Hey guys. I'm 17 and turning 18 soon. I want my first 2 tattoos to be the Veritas and Aequitas words.
The only thing is that I want to get the words in a place on my body where they're not just 'floating around'. You know what I mean? For instance, I would like the words in a place where it wouldn't just look bland.
Basically, I want the spot where the tattoos will be to mirror one another.
I was thinking about putting each word on each collar bone on a slant with the bone, but I don't know how good that would look.
I also came across this idea from "spydrplus" on the BDS tattoos topic to have each word on the outside of each foot:

I showed it to my brother and friend, both at a different time, and both of them said that tattoos on your feet are more for girls. (I'm a guy) Do you guys think this is a good spot for a guy to get a tattoo, or what...?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks guys!
-Vinnie

Well, I'm a woman & I'm going to be getting my Veritas & Aequitas on my left & right collarbones. I just won't get the lettering so very thick as most guys do. Still a decent size though. I think it's not so much where it is as long as it's placed equally - hands, forearms, biceps, - my friend's brother has it on his calves & it looks amazing! It's up to you, Vinnie! Best of luck!

I don't think the tattoos on the feet would look girly. I'll admit that most foot tattoos I've seen have been on girls, but not the sides of the feet like that. Be aware though that foot tattoos hurt like hell. I think the collarbones would be a good choice too. Or shoulderblades. I've seen a lot of pictures with the two words on the forearms. I think Firewolf is right - just make sure they're balanced. Then send us pictures. Preferably shirtless. (But only AFTER you turn 18)

Most foot tattoos are on women because men have nasty feet.

I think the tat on your feet would be pretty BA actually. i think from the elbows up toward the should like on your triceps would be sweet too. Good luck

Hey guys! Thanks for all your help!
I got my tats today and love em! =]
But oh man, this hurt like a BITCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Have a good one guys, and any feedback is appreciated. =]

dude. you got them on the wrong feet!!
aequitas goes on the right, veritas on the left....
you got them backwards.

DOH! Oh well, easy mistake. piss my pants. I really didn't think about which side the tats are on in the BDS until AFTER that tat was finished, but its all good. =] I still love em!
Besides, I really did the tattoo more for the meaning, and the meaning behind the words in the movie than to copy it from the brothers' hand's.
But thanks for pointing that out! =D

how long did it take on each foot?

Thanks guys...
Stephanie, I gave the image from the temp tattoos to the tattoo artist and he sized it and made the stencil from that. The pic I used can be found here: http://www.boondockstore.com/Merchant2/ … 0-1050.jpg
And for the time, it took appx. 30 minutes per foot. That is because he had to do the actual tattoo, and then go back and do a white shadow for each letter.
The ink on the bottom of the "TAS" and the bottom of the "VE" is starting to fall out only because of where the letters are on the foot and they get squished when I walk, so I need to go back and get my free touch up. Looking forward to it so I can take more pics, but deff not looking forward to the pain! >,<
piss my pants

Is that your right hand or left? If you were going for matching the words to their hands, Veritas should be left and Aequitas right.

ditto! @ poisonivey!
it would be nicer if it was at your upper back shoulder...

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and new to the film as I just saw it for the first time last night! BADASS!! Anyway, back in my freshman year of high school I began considering getting a tattoo. During my Latin class I began picking words and phrases that would look good as a tat...and what do you know, I chose Veritas et Aequitas!! Haha. Anyway, after seeing the movie, I've definitely decided to get Veritas et Aequitas. I'm thinking of getting both words under my left arm on my lat/ribs. What do you guys think of that as placement? I want something somewhat hidden, yet still present and at times quite noticeable.

I think you should put them on the bottom of your feet.

I like the forehead. Perfect way to make the statement.

I think the ribs are the perfect place. Been planning on getting Veritas down my ribs for about a year now and will have it next week or so.

Why do you want a bunch of people that you have never met to tell you where to get a tattoo? Ink is a completely personal thing and is no ones fucking business.
I have been given shit because of my ink because people didn't like the meaning behind it. La-tee-fucking-da!! Fuck you and I don't recall asking your opinion.
Bottom line dude, fuck the world, do what you want.
That being said, I truly feel that the words should be tattooed on the bottom of your feet.......
